MEMBERS HELPING MEMBERS
The members listed below have graciously offered to help other members. We request that before calling these volunteers you isolate your problem as best as you can. Try to be brief and considerate when you call a volunteer unless he or she offers extra time when you call. Some of our volunteers are professional consultants and may require a fee if you need them to come on-site to solve a problem or if they need to take more than a reasonable amount of time. However, they have agreed to offer any free help they can.

If the issue of a fee arises, it is up to you to clarify this early in your conversation. Before contracting for their time you may want to discuss their level of expertise with regard to your own needs. We do not check qualifications before adding people to this list. It is especially important that you check your documentation. Please do not request help if you have no documentation or if your software is an illegal copy. The Sarasota Technology Users Group, Inc. disclaims any liability for damages resulting from these contacts. If any member, experiences repeated difficulty reaching anyone on the list, or has a problem with anyone, please report it to the contact listed below.

We are always pleased to have additional members volunteer their time to help other members.  As you can see, there are many topics missing.  If you have good skills in any area of computers and wish to add your name to the list, please contact:  webmaster@thestug.org

How to Join the STUG GIO Group

1. Send a blank email to: thestug+subscribe@groups.io

2. Shortly thereafter, you will receive an email from GIO with the subject: “Confirm Your Groups.io Subscription”.
(If you don’t see the email in your in box, check the Junk (or Spam) folder.)

3. You will then receive am message with the subject: "Welcome to Groups.io!". Note that in the message is a statement:" If any of the groups you subscribed to require approval before joining, you will be notified when that happens." This is a welcome to GIO, not the STUG group.

4. You will get a follow up message with the subject:"[thestug] Your pending membership in the thestug@groups.io group". This step is VERY important. You must read that message. Then go to the next step.

5. Reply to that email to confirm your information. You must include your First & Last Name, your email address, and your Membership Number. If you do not know your Membership Number or are not a member, include some information as to why you should be added to the group.

6. You will then be Approved to read messages and post in the group.

7. You will receive a message with the subject:"Welcome to thestug@groups.io". It will give you some added group info, and guidelines for the group.

We hope you will join the Group and enjoy the advantages of having technological help in the form of an email reply at your fingertips.

Once you are a member of the list, and have a question or a statement email it to: thestug@groups.io
